Dall'Igna to become Ducati manager
10 October 2013 – Ducati Corse has announced Luigi Dall'Igna as its new General Manager, a move that becomes active on 11 November. The Italian, who switches from Aprilia, will replace Bernhard Gobmeier, who is to return to Germany with the Volkswagen Group.
"Thanks to this appointment, we can look forward to the next racing season with renewed motivation," commented Ducati Motor Holding CEO Claudio Domenicali, whom 47-year-old Dall'Igna will report to when he undertakes his new role.
"We are confident that the new Ducati Corse organisation, and a strategy even more focussed on technical development, will help us achieve our targets, ensuring that Ducati once again becomes a key player both in MotoGP and Superbike."
In addition, it has been confirmed that Paolo Ciabatti will retain his position of Ducati Team Project Manager. Both Ciabatti and Ernesto Marinello, Ducati's Superbike Project Manager, will work under the newly-appointed Dall'Igna in future seasons.
Domenicali also thanked Gobmeier "for his work during these past ten months".
