Pedrosa heads Honda 1-2 in FP1
11 October 2013 – Dani Pedrosa headed a Repsol Honda 1-2 during opening practice for the Malaysian Grand Prix on Friday morning. The Spaniard, who delivered a time of 2:01.229, led compatriot Marc Márquez by 0.367 seconds, with Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo third.
Following the disappointment of his crash in Aragón, Pedrosa was quick to state his intentions as the action resumed at Sepang. Having risen to the front at the 11-minute mark, he made one subsequent improvement to cement his pace-setting position.
Márquez and Lorenzo were almost four tenths adrift in second and third, the pair approaching this weekend's race separated by 39 points. Álvaro Bautista was a further 0.254 seconds adrift in fourth, while Valentino Rosso completed the top five.
Tech 3 team-mates Cal Crutchlow and Bradley Smith placed sixth and ninth.
Second practice at Sepang gets underway at 2.05pm local time (GMT +8)
