Márquez out to maintain same mentality
15 October 2013 – Repsol Honda rider Marc Márquez has said he will try and approach the MotoGP event in Australia this weekend the same as any other, even though it will be mathematically possible for him to clinch the title.
Márquez recovered from a poor start to finish second in Malaysia last Sunday and he now needs to score seven more points than Jorge Lorenzo and not lose more than five points to team-mate, Dani Pedrosa if he is to crowned at Phillip Island.
“It was a good weekend in Malaysia and we took some very important Championship points,” said Márquez ahead of the 16th round in the series.
“Now, without any time to rest, we head to Australia for the next race and we need to maintain the same direction and mentality as it's working for us in this moment.
“Phillip Island will be important for the Championship as there are only three races to go and every point makes a difference. But we will try to approach it as we do every race weekend, work hard from the beginning and keep our concentration,” he concluded.
