Márquez to push 100 per cent to recover
22 October 2013 – Repsol Honda rider Marc Márquez has said he will push '100 per cent' in the MotoGP event in Motegi this weekend as he looks to put the disappointment of Australia behind him and secure the title.
Márquez only now needed to score seven more points than Jorge Lorenzo and not lose more than five points to team-mate, Dani Pedrosa to be crowned at Phillip Island. However, he was disqualified after failing to acknowledge the pre-determined pitstop window. As a result, his lead was slashed and going into the final two races is down to 18 points.
“Obviously I'm disappointed after Phillip Island, but these things can happen,” said Márquez philosophically.
“The important thing is that once again, we showed we were there for the fight and were competitive. Now we must put it behind us and concentrate on Motegi.
“Track conditions can vary quite a lot and we will work hard on the set up in terms of the hard acceleration and braking, which is an area we have improved now.
“We will work hard from the beginning, following our normal programme and push 100 per cent to recover.”
