Bradl declared fit to return in Japan
24 October 2013 – LCR Honda rider Stefan Bradl has been given the green light to take part in this weekend's Japanese Grand Prix at Motegi, following a medical check on Thursday.
The 23-year-old German initially fractured his right ankle during a nasty practice fall in Malaysia, and was forced to undergo immediate surgery. He attempted to return at the subsequent Phillip Island round, but was ruled out after the opening practice session.
"Of course I am happy to be back racing," said Bradl. "On Friday in Australia I was ruled unfit and after that I have been having two physio sessions each day with the Clinica Mobile staff. I am off crutches now and the ankle is getting a lot better."
He added: "Compared with Phillip Island, Motegi has a lot of hard braking and slower corners, so I know it will be a tough race but I am keen to jump back on my RCV."
Bradl is currently seventh in the standings, with a slim chance of claiming satellite honours. Álvaro Bautista sits 12 points ahead, with Cal Crutchlow a further 32 clear.
