Laverty eyes regular points in 2014
12 December 2013 – Michael Laverty is aiming to ‘consistently’ score next season in the 2014 MotoGP World Championship.
Laverty, who will return for a second stint with Paul Bird Motorsport, scored just once in 2013, when he was 13th at Jerez in Spain.
“We learned so much in year one that I'm delighted [team owner] Paul [Bird] has continued his involvement with MotoGP and that he's given me the opportunity to continue with the project,” said the Brit, who will compete on board one of the team’s PBM Aprilias.
“Everyone has told me that year two is much easier so the aim is to put into place what we have learned and to raise our game accordingly.
“The class is going to be a lot tougher with the new production bikes but our aim is to consistently score points."
Laverty will be joined by Aussie Broc Parkes, who was confirmed as his team-mate on Wednesday. Team owner Paul Bird also announced that PBM will definitely compete in MotoGP in 2014.
