Stoner to keep HRC testing role in 2014
17 December 2013 – Double MotoGP World Champion Casey Stoner will retain his testing role with HRC in 2014.
Stoner retired from the top echelon of motorcycle racing at the end of 2012, but assisted the Japanese manufacturer with the development of its factory prototype machine and RCV1000R production racer this year.
Shuhei Nakamoto, vice-president of HRC, confirmed to Britain's Motor Cycle News that Stoner is to remain involved throughout the upcoming campaign, although as of yet the company has "not decided on a plan".
Nakamoto made clear, however, that Stoner will not attend the Phillip Island tyre test in his native Australia from March 3-5, which has been organised by Bridgestone to rectify the tyre dramas that affected this year's race.
