Márquez thumps rivals in third practice
12 April 2014 – Reigning World Champion Marc Márquez continued his domination of the second round of the 2014 MotoGP season as he set the fastest time during the third free practice session ahead of this weekend's Grand Prix of the Americas.
Márquez's best lap of 2:03.046 was 0.745s quicker than his nearest rival, LCR's Stefan Bradl. Márquez's Honda team-mate, Dani Pedrosa, was third quickest, ahead of Ducati's Andrea Dovizioso and Tech 3 rider Bradley Smith.
Andrea Iannone was sixth for Pramac, in front of Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo and Ducati's Cal Crutchlow. Pol Espargaró was ninth, while Valentino Rossi narrowly made the cut for Q2 by rounding out the top 10.
Qualifying at the Circuit of the Americas gets underway at 2.10pm local time on Saturday (GMT -5)
