Márquez leads Pedrosa in third practice
26 April 2014 – Reigning Champion Marc Márquez topped the final practice session ahead of this weekend's MotoGP round in Argentina, although Honda team-mate Dani Pedrosa narrowed his margin to 0.159s.
Márquez had ended Friday's second session over a second clear of his nearest rival but on Saturday morning he faced a sterner challenge from his team-mate.
Valentino Rossi was third for Yamaha, ahead of Forward Racing's Aleix Espargaró and Ducati's Andrea Dovizioso.
Stefan Bradl was sixth, while double champion Jorge Lorenzo was only seventh fastest on his Yamaha. Andrea Iannone set the eighth quickest time, ahead of Álvaro Bautista.
Pol Espargaró suffered a high speed crash when he lost control of his Tech 3 Yamaha at the final corner but was able to walk away after a tumble through the gravel.
Espargaró returned to the circuit later on in the session and set the 10th quickest time, enabling the Spaniard to progress automatically through to Q2.
British rider Bradley Smith was 11th fastest, meaning that he will battle it out with the slower half of the field during Q1 for one of the two Q2 slots.
Qualifying for the race in Argentina will take place at 14:10 local time (GMT - 3) on Saturday
