Márquez: I hope we get a dry race at Le Mans
13 May 2014 – Repsol Honda rider and defending Champion Marc Márquez is hoping for dry conditions this weekend in the MotoGP event in France.
Márquez has been dominant so far this season and has won all four races from pole position to build an early 28-point lead in the championship. However, his record at the Le Mans Bugatti circuit is rather mixed, and while he came through to finish third there last season – in his very first wet MotoGP race – he is hoping the rain stays away this coming Sunday.
"After another really great weekend in Jerez and a positive day of testing on Monday, we are now on our way to Le Mans. You never know what the weather will do there so it is important to start strong from FP1," he said.
"Last year we had our first wet race here and I really learned a lot, but this year I hope it will remain dry!" he added.
"We know that Dani [Pedrosa – my team-mate], Jorge [Lorenzo] and Valentino [Rossi] will come back at us hard here, but we will work on our own programme - as usual - and fight for victory or at least some important Championship points."
