Pedrosa: Arm still causing 'issues'
2 June 2014 – Dani Pedrosa has confirmed he will have another check-up today as his arm is still causing him 'issues'.
Pedrosa was disappointed to only finish fourth on Sunday in the Italian MotoGP, coming home 14 seconds off his Repsol Honda team-mate and event winner, Marc Márquez.
Speaking at the finish, he revealed he is still not 100 per cent following surgery last month for compartmental syndrome - or 'arm pump' as it is known in the bike racing community.
"It was a tough race and I wasn't able to get the result that I was hoping for here," said Pedrosa, who had a poor start and who now slips behind Valentino Rossi to third in the 2014 MotoGP Riders' Championship.
"My arm is still causing me issues and I wasn't able to push one hundred percent so thanks to my team for their patience whilst I still recover."
"The race today was interesting though, and I congratulate Marc and Jorge [Lorenzo] for a nice battle!" he added.
"Now we have to continue working so that we can be up in the leading group as well, and have some fun with them, but I need to be physically 100 per cent to be able to do so. Tomorrow I will go for a check up with Dr. Mir and hope to be fitter in time for Montmelo in two weeks time."
