Bradl moves to front in Barcelona practice
14 June 2014 – Stefan Bradl moved to the top of the timesheets in Saturday morning's third practice session for the Catalunya Grand Prix.
The LCR Honda rider clocked a 1:41.357 – the fastest of the Barcelona weekend so far – late in the session to lead the Repsol Honda of reigning World Champion Marc Márquez by almost two tenths of a second.
Having set the pace in Friday's first session, Forward Racing's Aleix Espargaró finished third on the combined order, just ahead of Tech 3 rider Bradley Smith and Dani Pedrosa on the second of the factory Honda bikes.
The works Yamahas of Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi followed in sixth and seventh respectively, while Pramac's Yonny Hernández, Ducati's Andrea Dovizioso and Tech 3's Pol Espargaró completed the top ten.
The younger of the Espargaró brothers arguably experienced the biggest incident of FP3, misjudging his braking point at Turn 5 and dropping his bike at low speed. But he escaped injury and was able to continue.
Gresini's Scott Redding and the aforementioned Pedrosa were others to journey through the gravel.
Saturday's first qualifying session in Barcelona gets underway at 2.10pm local time (GMT +2)
