Red Bull increases Repsol Honda backing
30 July 2014 – Energy drink company Red Bull has increased its partnership with Honda's factory MotoGP team.
After nine years of involvement with Repsol Honda, Red Bull will for the first time see its logo feature on the bikes of Marc Márquez and Dani Pedrosa next season, in addition to its current placement on the riders' helmets.
"We are delighted to have the opportunity to grow our partnership with Red Bull," Shuhei Nakamoto, HRC Executive Vice President, said of the deal. "It is an iconic global brand with whom we've worked alongside for nine years, so this was the logical next step. I'm sure that this new partnership will increase our visibility, not only as Honda, but also MotoGP on a whole to a wider global audience, which can only be good for the sport."
Honda's extended agreement with Red Bull will run through the 2015 and 2016 MotoGP campaigns.
