Lorenzo in 'good shape' after summer break
6 August 2014 – Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo is hopeful of returning to his former level during the second half of the season.
The two-time World Champion sits fifth in the standings after a challenging start to the campaign, behind Repsol Honda duo Marc Márquez and Dani Pedrosa, team-mate Valentino Rossi and Ducati's Andrea Dovizioso.
But having been able to reflect over the summer break, Lorenzo returns to action in a positive frame of mind.
"After a very good time relaxing while on holiday I'm now keen to get back on the bike. It's always important to get some days off to recover physically and mentally, but I'm looking forward to ride in Indy," said Lorenzo.
"During the summer break I was able to rest and keep focused for the second half of the season. There are still nine races remaining and I want to give my best. I want to fight and ride in my best way to try to win.
"At the last race in Germany I felt quite comfortable with the bike. I think I can come back in good shape."
Lorenzo is a former race winner at the Indianapolis circuit, triumphing during the 2009 season.
