Espargaró: Suzuki my priority for 2015
8 August 2014 – Aleix Espargaró says securing a ride at Suzuki for the 2015 MotoGP season is now his "priority".
The 25-year-old Spaniard is comfortably leading the new Open class battle with Forward Yamaha; having claimed pole position at Assen and a personal best finish of fourth, he holds sixth in the overall standings.
Japanese brand Suzuki is preparing to return to the top echelon of motorcycle racing after a three-year hiatus.
"Everybody knows my priority is to join Suzuki next year but it is not fixed yet. I hope it will be done in the next weeks," Espargaró, who began his MotoGP career with the Aspar CRT squad, said of his future plans.
"Before Germany we had a couple of good options [for the 2015 season] and we decided to think about those options during the summer break. During the last week we decided just to keep working with Suzuki."
If Espargaró leaves, Forward will have an all-new line-up for 2015, with team-mate Colin Edwards retiring.
