Márquez stays fastest in second practice
29 August 2014 – Repsol Honda's Marc Márquez remained in charge during Friday afternoon's second practice session for the British Grand Prix.
The reigning World Champion clocked a 2:02.126, over a second quicker than his FP1 time, to finish half a second clear of LCR's Stefan Bradl.
Works Ducati rider Andrea Dovizioso again classified third, edging out Tech 3 Yamaha rival and lead home competitor Bradley Smith.
Yonny Hernández and Andrea Iannone put the Pramac team fifth and seventh on the opening day's combined timesheets, the pair split by Gresini's Scott Redding, who made particularly good use of the Option tyre.
Gresini's Álvaro Bautista, Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa and Forward's Aleix Espargaró rounded out the top 10.
Factory Yamaha team-mates Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi finished back in 11th and 13th respectively.
