Moto3's Bagnaia gets Aspar Valencia test
31 October 2016 – Moto3 frontrunner Francesco Bagnaia will sample MotoGP machinery for the first time with Aspar at Valencia next month.
Bagnaia, 19, is currently in his fourth season of competition in Moto3 and occupies third in the standings, having taken his second win of the year last weekend in Malaysia.
Bagnaia competes for Aspar's Moto3 squad and as a result of taking to victories this season, he will now sample the team's Ducati Desmosedici during post-race testing at Valencia.
"Now we can think about Valencia, where thanks to a bet I made with the team for winning two races I'll also get to ride the Ducati," commented Bagnaia, who will run on the first day of post-season testing.
Bagnaia is not in contention for a 2017 seat at Aspar, having already signed a deal to race for the Valentino Rossi backed Sky Racing Team in Moto2 next season.
Aspar, meanwhile, will field Álvaro Bautista and the returning Karel Abraham in MotoGP next year.
