Lucas Foresti led a Fortec 1-2-3 at Snetterton during the second race of the weekend, getting away well from pole position before building a comfortable gap over his team-mates Harry Tincknell and Will Buller. The Brazilian started from the front due to the reverse grid rules that apply after Race 1, grasping the opportunity to secure his second win of the season.
"My first win (at Oulton Park) was really special and this one is as well because I couldn’t go quick in qualifying and this is a bonus," Foresti explained after making his way off the rostrum for the fourth time this season. "It’s really great for the team to score a 1-2-3; it’s impressive and it shows how hard everybody is working."
Pleasant conditions welcomed the drivers at the Norfolk venue for Race 2, with Foresti getting away well to keep his lead. Tincknell was able to benefit from a poor start by team-mate Will Buller and settled into second place. Despite some growing pressure, Tincknell settled into a rhythm and maintained his position.
As the race progressed it was Foresti who continued to set the pace, comfortably building a gap back to his team-mates behind, while Pietro Fantin in fourth struggled to find a way past Buller for the final spot on the podium. Foresti went on to cross the line with a margin of more than five seconds over his closest rival, taking the win in a dominant manner.
Hywel Lloyd was able to hold off Felipe Nasr for fifth place, his and the Sino Vision Racing squad’s best result of the 2011 season so far, while Riki Christodoulou scored his second points finish of the weekend in seventh place. Carlos Huertas edged out Kevin Magnussen for eighth, just ahead of Yann Cunha who scored his maiden British F3 point.
Race 3 begins at 4.15pm local time (BST)
