Van der Drift joins Mofaz Racing

9 April 2011

Chris van der Drift will be making his Formula Renault 3.5 return in 2011, following a period of recovery due to a high-speed, mid-season crash at Brands Hatch last year. The 25-year-old from New Zealand was competing in the Superleague Formula category when the accident occurred, having picked up four wins for Olympiacos CFP.

"I am thrilled to be joining the Mofaz Racing outfit and to be returning to this series," van der Drift commented. "I am confident that, together with the team, we will deliver a competitive performance throughout the season."

Mofaz Racing Director Ferhan Fauzy added his words about the new deal, and he believes that van der Drift can ‘do great things’ with the squad.

"Chris is an experienced driver and has made a strong impression in every category he has raced in," he said. "He has the potential to do great things. We look forward to working with him and are confident that along with Jake Rosenzweig, our American driver, he will help us finish in the top three of the teams' championship."
