César Ramos claimed his second pole position of the season at Monza on Saturday morning, setting a time of 1:36.254 to edge out 2009 British Formula 3 Champion Daniel Ricciardo by 0.065 seconds. The 21-year-old narrowly held onto his advantage over the Australian in the closing stages, while Robert Wickens finished third.
The drivers were greeted by overcast skies at the prestigious Italian Venue on Saturday, with clouds aplenty ahead of the first qualifying session of the weekend. Behind the top three, Kevin Korjus was able to secure fourth place after a promising qualifying performance, just ahead of Monaco’s Stephane Richelmi.
Daniil Move was the first of the P1 Motorsport machines in sixth place, ending the 30 minutes of track action marginally ahead of Sergio Canamasas. Next up were Nathanaël Berthon, Chris van der Drift and Daniel Zampieri, while Brendon Hartley, Jean-Eric Vergne and Alexander Rossi all finished outside the top ten.
