Champion Aleshin joins Superleague Formula
7 July 2011 – Russia’s Mikhail Aleshin, the World Series by Renault Champion of 2010, will be making his debut in the Superleague Formula next weekend. The 24-year-old from Moscow, who was also Formula 2 runner-up in 2009, will drive for Cardiff-based AtechReidGP at Belgium’s Zolder circuit.
“It is great to be coming to Superleague Formula and to race for Russia,” Aleshin comments. “I´ve watched the series on TV and I’ve been told how good the cars are to drive. I know some of the guys on the grid and there are some very good racers in the championship. I’m confident that I will be quick straight away and I hope to be challenging from the very beginning.”
“Mikhail is a great signing for AtechReidGP and Superleague Formula,” adds Anthony Reid, Team Manager and British Touring Car runner-up of 1998. “Anyone who can match results with, and then beat a driver of the calibre of Daniel Ricciardo, is certainly going to be a contender.”
