Yelloly disqualified from series debut

World Series by Renault: Silverstone Circuit 2011: Saturday race 1 results

Nick Yelloly has been disqualified from his debut race in Formula Renault 3.5, losing sixth place due to a fuel-related rule infringement. The Pons driver had been performing well above expectations, sticking with the battle for fourth until the finish.

Yelloly's car weighed 727kg after the race, with only 1kg of fuel remaining as opposed to the requirement of 3kg. Thus, team boss Jordi Pons has vowed to give his cars more of a margin during the second race, admitting that it was an uncharacteristic error.

As a result of the exclusion, Oliver Webb moves up to seventh in the second Pons machine, while Sergio Canamasas is promoted to tenth place for the final point.
