Jean-Eric Vergne made it two pole positions out of two at Paul Ricard this morning, topping the timesheets during the second qualifying session of the weekend. The Frenchman's time of 2:13'.142 saw him directly outpace Oli Webb and Alexander Rossi, while current championship leader Robert Wickens could only manage eighth.

Extremely wet conditions greeted the drivers at the French venue ahead of the session, with Vergne's ultimate pole lap over twenty seconds slower than he managed in the first qualifying session yesterday. Daniel Ricciardo was best of the rest behind the top three, improving slightly in the wet conditions after his sixth place grid slot 24 hours ago.

Jake Rosenzweig was next up in fifth place, just ahead of series newcomer Nick Yelloly who continued to impress following his first taste of Formula Renault 3.5 at Silverstone last time out. Nelson Panciatici and Robert Wickens did enough for seventh and eighth respectievely, with Daniël de Jong and Albert Costa rounding out the top ten.

Race 2 begins at 2pm local time (BST +1)
