Arden and DAMS to debut in 2012

17 October 2011

As planned last week, organisers for the World Series by Renault have named the 13 teams which have been accepted for the 2012 Formula Renault 3.5 championship. Changes see the Epic Racing and Mofaz outfits replaced by newcomers Arden and DAMS, already experienced outfits in the world of GP2.

With more companies joining the series while also running in Formula 1 feeder championship GP2, a boost is expected for Formula Renault 3.5 as drivers are provided with an easier path of rising to the top of motorsport.

The 13 teams selected for the 2012 Formula Renault 3.5 series are as follows:

- Arden International Ltd.
- BVM Target
- Carlin
- Comtec Racing
- DAMS
- International Draco Racing
- Fortec Motorsports
- Gravity-Charouz
- ISR
- KMP Racing
- P1 Motorsport
- Pons Racing
- Tech 1 Racing

In addition, the following two teams have been chosen as stand-by outfits:

- Epic Racing
- Koiranen Motorsport

Selected teams now have until Sunday 15 January 2012 to meet all necessary contractual obligations in order to officially finalise their places on the grid.
