Zeta Corse completes Monza FR3.5 field
2 April 2013 – Zeta Corse has announced its driver line-up for the opening round of the Formula Renault 3.5 campaign at Monza, thus completing the 26-strong grid. The Italian team, which has taken over the entry of BVM-Target for 2013, has signed Mihai Marinescu on a permanent deal, while Emmanuel Piget is racing on a temporary basis.
"The Zeta Corse programme started a little bit late," said team boss Claudio Corradini. "When it came to signing drivers, many of them were already busy. Marinescu proved key in pre-season and will be with us throughout the year, but it's been tough to secure a second full-time racer. Despite sampling several drivers in testing, no deals have come. For the remaining rounds, we'll see."
Marinescu, 24, contested a partial Formula Renault 3.5 season in 2009, before switching to the now defunct Formula 2 category. Meanwhile, 29-year-old Piget will be back in action for the first time since appearing in the European F3 Open in 2010.
