Fortec signs Menchaca for V8 3.5 campaign
30 January 2017 – Fortec Motorsport will field an all-Mexican line-up in Formula V8 3.5 this season after signing Diego Menchaca to partner Alfonso Celis Jr.
Menchaca, 22, has spent the last two years in Euroformula Open, placing fourth in the championship in 2016.
"I'm very excited to carry on with my sporting career by joining the World Series Formula V8 3.5," he said.
"It's a natural move for me, especially having attended most of the races last year while I was participating in the EuroFormula Open.
"Winter testing went really well and I can't wait to be behind the wheel.
"Of course, the fact of having one of the meetings organised in Mexico is going to be the highest point of the season, with all the Mexican crowds cheering for us!"
Fortec guided Robin Frijns (in 2012) and Oliver Rowland (in 2015) to titles, when the category was supported by Renault.
