Neal doubting Honda advantage at Croft
14 June 2011 – Matt Neal does not expect an Oulton Park-like Honda benefit as the British Touring Car Championship continues at Croft this weekend. The Champion of 2005 and 2006, who has won three times so far this year, has not enjoyed victory at the Yorkshire circuit since his second title-winning campaign of five years ago.
“Croft has got a good mixture of all sorts of corners – fast, medium and slow-speed – and the Civic has always had a great chassis, so has always gone well around there,” comments Neal, who last time out was involved in a last corner collision with team-mate Gordon Shedden.
“But we’ve never been there with the turbo engine before and the teams who did run turbos last year have told us that Croft was a bit of a bogey circuit for them, so we have to be wary of that.”
