Jaguar confirms Carroll, Evans as FE drivers
8 September 2016 – Jaguar presented its team name, title sponsor and livery during a launch event on Thursday, as well as confirming Adam Carroll and Mitch Evans as its drivers.
Panasonic Jaguar Racing will compete in the third season of Formula E with its first all-electric car, the I-TYPE 1, which was unveiled at the Jaguar Collections Centre.
Northern Ireland's Carroll, 33, most recently active in GT racing, had long been tipped for a seat, and will be joined by New Zealander and GP2 driver Evans, 22.
"Today marks a new chapter in the history of Jaguar Racing," commented Gerd Mauser, Chairman of Panasonic Jaguar Racing, after the team's official launch.
"As the first premium car manufacturer in Formula E we are proud to be back in top-level motorsport – the future is changing and we're part of that change.
"We can't wait to begin racing competitively in inner city locations inspiring a whole new generation of Jaguar Racing fans to join us on this exciting journey.
"Formula E is the perfect platform to inspire the next generation."
Chinese-Dutch racer Ho-Pin Tung will act as Jaguar's reserve.
