Red Bull's Ticktum gets GP3 shot with DAMS
29 August 2017 – Red Bull-backed Daniel Ticktum will contest the final three rounds of the GP3 Series campaign with DAMS, stepping up from Formula Renault 2.0.
British racer Ticktum, 18, holds seventh in this year's Eurocup standings, with one win to his name, and has previously raced in the MSA Formula, British and European F3 and the MRF Challenge.
He will replace Matthieu Vaxivière in DAMS' GP3 line-up at Monza, with the latter heading to Mexico for World Endurance Championship duties with TDS Racing.
"I can finally announce as of now I'm competing in the last three rounds of the GP3 championship with DAMS," revealed Ticktum in a post on Instagram.
"However, only having 45 minutes to get used to a car with 200bhp more than what I'm used to will certainly be a challenge – [but] that's what racing is about!"
Ticktum is set to partner Tatiana Calderón and Bruno Baptista, though DAMS has yet to officially confirm the news, or whether there will be further changes.
