Piquet Jr. joins Evans at Jaguar for S4
21 September 2017 – Nelson Piquet Jr. has joined Mitch Evans at Jaguar for Formula E's fourth season.
Ex-Formula 1 driver Piquet Jr. was crowned the first ever Formula E champion in 2014/15, taking two wins and three further podiums to edge out Sébastien Buemi.
China Racing morphed into NextEV for season two, with Piquet Jr. dropping to 15th in the standings, before placing 11th overall in 2016/17.
"It's a great honour to join Panasonic Jaguar Racing," said Piquet Jr.
"Jaguar has such a strong history in motorsport and it's an exciting time to become part of the team. Their commitment to electric motorsport is inspiring.
"I'm looking forward to working with the team."
Evans made his Formula E debut with Jaguar in 2016/17 and logged four points finishes, including a best result of fourth, en route to 14th in the standings.
"After such a great season, it's fantastic to be continuing with Panasonic Jaguar Racing in season four," he said, having comfortably outscored then team-mate Adam Carroll.
"As a team, we are moving in the right direction, and I can't wait for the kick-off."
Ho-Pin Tung remains the team's official reserve driver.
