Channel 5 confirms Kay as FE presenter
15 November 2017 – Channel 5's coverage of the upcoming Formula E season will be fronted by sports and entertainment presenter Vernon Kay, the broadcaster has confirmed.
Formula E debuted on Channel 5 last year, after ITV lost the rights, ensuring that the all-electric series remained on free-to-air television in the UK.
Kay takes over from Andy Jaye as the frontman on Channel 5, which operated from a remote studio for its first season as the UK rights holder.
Kay has covered the NFL on Channel 4, golf on Sky Sports and several high-profile entertainment shows on ITV and E4, and is also a radio DJ.
"I can't wait to get trackside and present all the electric action, right from the heart of these amazing cities," commented Kay.
"I'm delighted to welcome Vernon to the Channel 5 family," added Caj Sohal, who acts as Head of Sport for Channel 5.
"He's a hugely talented broadcaster with a genuine passion for this exciting and fast developing sport."
Channel 5, which also shows MotoGP and WRC highlights, will broadcast all 14 Formula E races in 2017/18, including live coverage of selected races.
