De Vries, Müller to test Audi Formula E car
12 December 2017 – Formula 2 driver Nyck de Vries and DTM racer Nico Müller will sample Formula E machinery with Audi in the series' post-Marrakesh ePrix rookie test.
McLaren-backed de Vries, 22, acted as Audi's reserve driver for part of the 2017 DTM campaign, alongside his full-time F2 duties.
He raced for Rapax and then Racing Engineering in F2 last season, placing seventh in the standings with one victory, and will move to Prema for 2018.
Müller, 25, has long been part of the Audi family, contesting the past four DTM seasons with the manufacturer, with a best ranking of ninth in 2016.
"This mid-season test is a unique opportunity," said Audi team boss Allan McNish.
"Nico and Nyck are going to drive our e-tron FE04 for a number of test kilometres which will give them a good initial impression of the car and the things that are special in Formula E.
"Nico already belongs to the Audi family and we've been closely watching Nyck's career in recent years – both have their roots in single-seater racing and will no doubt manage well."
De Vries and Müller will test in Marrakesh on January 14, the day after the ePrix.
