Blomqvist gets nod for Marrakesh ePrix
16 December 2017 – Andretti has confirmed that Tom Blomqvist will make his Formula E debut at next month's Marrakesh ePrix.
The BMW-affiliated Andretti operation announced in November that Blomqvist would partner António Félix da Costa in the 2017/18 campaign, but altered its plans for the Hong Kong event.
Former Formula 1 driver Kamui Kobayashi was recruited to pilot Andretti's ATEC-03 around the streets of Hong Kong, though was unable to score, taking a best result of 13th.
Andretti has now duly confirmed that Blomqvist will step up to a race seat for the Marrakesh round, alongside Felix da Costa, with Alexander Sims appointed as reserve driver.
Blomqvist, Formula 3 runner-up in 2014, has competed for BMW in DTM across the past three years, taking one win and a best of sixth in the standings.
Andretti has also confirmed that the squad's Indy Lights racer Colton Herta will partake in the post-race rookie test, along with 2012 DTM champion Bruno Spengler.
