Buemi remaining optimistic for Sunday
24 September 2011 – Toro Rosso’s Sébastien Buemi has vowed to remain upbeat ahead of Sunday’s Singapore Grand Prix, despite being eliminated from the second stage of qualifying en route to 14th on the grid. The Swiss pilot says a strong result can still be achieved if he stays on top of heat levels, with humidity an extreme problem for the field this weekend.
"It will be an extremely long and tough night and it will be important to maintain concentration from start to finish. If we can do that, there is every reason to think we can deliver a good result."
"Therefore I feel what I achieved was the maximum I could do, with the car as it was. Tomorrow everything can change in what is usually the longest race of the year in very tough conditions for the cars and drivers."
