Buemi to drive for Red Bull in Bahrain test
12 December 2013 – Sébastien Buemi will drive for Red Bull on all three days of Pirelli's upcoming tyre test in Bahrain, the Milton Keynes-based outfit has confirmed to GPUpdate.net.
With Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo both missing the test, former Toro Rosso driver Buemi, one of the team's two dedicated reserve drivers alongside António Félix da Costa, has been called up.
All 12 teams were initially invited to the gathering, which permits the use of 2013 machinery. But only six squads were announced as attending, before McLaren and Force India dropped out for logistical reasons.
Ferrari will be attending with Pedro de la Rosa and Jules Bianchi, Toro Rosso plans to use 2014 race drivers Jean-Éric Vergne and Daniil Kvyat, while fellow attendee Mercedes is yet to confirm its testing line-up.
