Ferrari presents Massa with V8 engine
16 December 2013 – Felipe Massa was given a V8 engine by Ferrari during his last Christmas appearance at Maranello.
The unit was used during the 2008 season, when the Brazilian famously crossed the line at the season finale having done enough to secure the title, only for Lewis Hamilton to make up ground on the final lap.
In turn, Massa handed Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo the race helmet he used at this year's Brazilian Grand Prix, his final Formula 1 race for the Italian marque.
"The doors of this company will always be open to a man and a driver of his quality," said di Montezemolo.
"His name is linked to Ferrari I want to thank him for his contribution over the eight years he spent with us."
Massa joins Williams for the 2014 Formula 1 campaign, where he partners Valtteri Bottas.
