New ten-year F1 deal for Canadian GP
7 June 2014 – The Canadian Grand Prix will remain on the Formula 1 calendar until at least the 2024 campaign, with race organisers confirming that an agreement has been reached for a ten-year contract extension.
The fresh deal was announced during a special press conference held at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve ahead of qualifying for this year's Grand Prix, attended by a selection of venue officials and government figures.
More than $30m is set to be spent on improving facilities, including new paddock and race control buildings.
The Montreal track joined the Formula 1 roster back in 1978, and has only missed two seasons since.
