No further action in de Villota accident
26 May 2015 – Manor Grand Prix Racing will face no further action over the testing crash involving Maria de Villota following the conclusion of an investigation.
De Villota was conducting a test for the squad at Duxford Aerodrome in 2012 when her car struck a Marussia team truck.
De Villota lost an eye in the crash and died in 2013 as a result of the neurological injuries which she suffered.
Britain's Health and Safety Executive [HSE] investigated the crash but has now deemed that no further action is necessary.
"The investigation is now complete and no enforcement action is being taken," the HSE is quoted by BBC.
"Both the company [Manor Grand Prix Racing] and the DP's [deceased person's] family have been informed."
The HSE declined to comment on the cause of the crash though added that there were "a number of underlying causes."
Manor Grand Prix Racing operated Marussia before a tumultuous winter led to its revival as Manor Marussia this season.
