Leclerc completes 2018 tyre test in Mexico
2 November 2017 – Charles Leclerc and Sauber wrapped up tyre testing at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez on Wednesday, as part of Pirelli's development programme for 2018.
Ferrari-backed Leclerc was joined by Force India reserve driver Alfonso Celis Jr. on Tuesday, but had the track to himself for the second and final day of running.
Overnight rain led to the use of Intermediate rubber early on, before a switch to slicks later in the day, with Leclerc hitting 104 laps overall, equivalent to 447 kilometres.
As per usual, the test was carried out 'blind', with neither driver nor team aware of the compounds being used, while all data gathered will be shared between each team.
Pirelli's next 2018 tyre test will be held at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace, on November 14 and 15, following the Brazilian Grand Prix, with McLaren in action.
