Ricciardo, STR set for Brazil grid penalties
10 November 2017 – Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo and Toro Rosso pair Pierre Gasly and Brendon Hartley are set to be hit with 10-place grid penalties for the Brazilian Grand Prix.
A report issued by Technical Delegate Jo Bauer confirmed that the trio have taken on an eighth MGU-H for this weekend's race at Interlagos.
As it is the first time an eighth power unit element has been used by each of the drivers, they will be handed a 10-place grid drop, which will be confirmed by stewards later.
It marks the second successive event in which Ricciardo and Gasly have faced a penalty.
Hartley, meanwhile, will take a grid penalty for the third straight event.
To compound matters, he suffered a suspected engine failure during the early stages of FP1.
