Kvyat involved in NASCAR Euro Series test
5 December 2017 – Daniil Kvyat is taking part in a NASCAR Whelen Euro Series recruitment test as he assesses his options for the 2018 season, after being dropped by Red Bull.
Kvyat stepped up to Formula 1 with Toro Rosso in 2014, and graduated to Red Bull for 2015, following Sebastian Vettel's surprise decision to join Ferrari.
Kvyat, though, was demoted to Toro Rosso after four rounds in 2016, and then rested after this year's Singapore Grand Prix, having scored just eight points in his second spell at the junior team.
He returned for the United States Grand Prix, as Carlos Sainz Jr. made an early move to Renault, and Pierre Gasly focused on Super Formula, scoring a respectable 10th place.
However, he was then dropped from Red Bull's programme altogether, casting serious doubt over his Formula 1 future, with only one seat left on the 2018 grid, at Williams.
Kvyat has remained quiet on his official social media channels since departing Formula 1, but he is sampling NASCAR Euro Series machinery in Italy this week.
He was named on the entry list for a recruitment test at the Autodromo Di Franciacort in the Province of Brescia on Monday and Tuesday, albeit with no further information.
