Ticktum heads 2018 Red Bull junior line-up
15 January 2018 – Red Bull has announced its junior programme line-up for 2018, with Macau Grand Prix victor Dan Ticktum leading the six-driver operation.
Red Bull has used its programme to guide several promising youngsters through to Formula 1, most notably Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo.
Ticktum, who joined the scheme last year, claimed a famous win at Macau, alongside a handful of GP3 outings, and will move into Formula 3 with Motopark this season.
Neil Verhagen remains a Red Bull junior and will stay in Formula Renault Eurocup, switching to Tech 1 Racing.
14-year-old karters Dennis Hauger and Jack Doohan will graduate to single-seater racing in British Formula 4.
The final two members, Jonny Edgar and Harry Thompson, both aged 13, will remain in karting.
Honda-backed Formula 2 graduate Nirei Fukuzumi has also been announced as a Red Bull athlete, though is not part of the junior programme.
Niko Kari and Richard Verschoor have both been officially dropped.
