Calado joins forces with Nicolas Todt
1 May 2013 – James Calado's future motorsport endeavours will now be guided by Nicolas Todt and his All Road Management (ARM) brand, with the pair joining forces this week.
Todt, son of FIA President Jean, already looks after the careers of Ferrari's Felipe Massa, Williams driver Pastor Maldonado and Marussia pilot Jules Bianchi, and believes Calado has what it takes to make the step up from the GP2 Series.
"Through my [co-ownership] role with the ART Grand Prix team for whom James is currently in his second year racing in GP2, I have been strongly impressed by his talent, attitude and level of commitment," Todt explained of the agreement. "I hope that James will fight for the GP2 title and prove that he deserves to enter the F1 elite."
Calado, who has long been backed by the Racing Steps Foundation, has raced in ART colours since his sole GP3 term in 2011, when he finished runner-up to team-mate Valtteri Bottas. The Briton, 23, remained with the outfit for his GP2 graduation last year, and is now contesting his second season in the category.
