Marciello joins Markelov at Russian Time
18 January 2016 – Russian Time has finalised its driver line-up for the upcoming GP2 season, with series race winner Raffaele Marciello moving across from Trident Racing to partner Artem Markelov.
Marciello, 21, whose stay in GP2 was reported by GPUpdate.net last week, spent his first two seasons with Racing Engineering and Trident, the Italian claiming one win and seven further podiums.
Russian racer Markelov, also 21, made his GP2 debut with Russian Time in 2014 and stayed on for 2015, recording a best finish of third in last year's Spa-Francorchamps Feature Race.
"I'm delighted to welcome Raffaele to the team," said team boss Svetlana Strelnikova.
"Raffaele has shown consistent speed and Artem has grown stronger as he got to grips with the category.
"I'm optimistic that with both drivers having two years' experience in Formula 1's feeder category, we will be able to mount a challenge in what is an ever more competitive series – I'm looking forward to it."
Mitch Evans, who raced for Russian Time in 2015, has been linked to Campos Racing.
