Albon gets F2 grid penalty for blocking
15 July 2017 – ART driver Alexander Albon has been handed a three-place grid penalty for Saturday's Formula 2 Feature Race at Silverstone.
Albon was judged to have impeded Trident rival Nabil Jeffri during the 30-minute qualifying session on Friday, and stewards imposed the sanction.
Albon, who originally qualified in 10th position, will now drop to 13th spot, promoting Nyck de Vries, Gustav Malja and Luca Ghiotto.
The Anglo-Thai racer, runner-up in last year's GP3 championship, currently holds seventh overall in F2, despite missing the Azerbaijan round through injury.
Title leader Charles Leclerc will start from pole position after topping qualifying for a sixth straight session.
