Leclerc to adopt late father's helmet design
14 September 2017 – Ferrari-backed Charles Leclerc will adopt his late father's helmet design for the remainder of the Formula 2 season, in a special tribute.
Leclerc's father Hervé, who also started out as a racing driver, progressing to Formula 3, passed away earlier this year, shortly before F2's Azerbaijan round.
Leclerc, 19, claimed pole position and won the Feature Race in Baku, while running "Je t'aime papa" (I love you dad) messages on his helmet and car.
He has now revealed a full replica of his father's helmet design, which he will sport during the final two rounds of the F2 season at Jerez and Yas Marina.
"Last thing I promised you was to finish this championship with your design," Leclerc posted on Twitter.
Leclerc leads Oliver Rowland by 59 points in the standings.
