Albon excluded from F2 qualifying results
24 November 2017 – ART Grand Prix's Alexander Albon has been excluded from the results of Friday's qualifying session at Yas Marina after officials were unable to extract the required fuel sample from his car.
Albon qualified in 10th place for the Feature Race but stopped on track through the final sector, amid suspected technical issues, and did not partake in the final few minutes of the session.
With ART unable to provide the mandatory fuel sample from his car, Albon has been excluded, though is permitted to start the race from the rear of the 20-car grid.
Albon, following an encouraging start to his Formula 2 career, has scored points only three times in the last 10 races, slipping to 10th place in the standings as a result.
Russian Time's Artem Markelov will start the Feature Race from pole position for the first time in his career.
