SPM cancels Calmels/Gommendy Indy deal
8 December 2017 – Schmidt Peterson Motorsports has confirmed that its proposed 2018 Indianapolis 500 programme with Calmels Sport has been cancelled.
SPM had been due to link with Calmels Sport to run sportscar racer Tristan Gommendy in the No. 77 car for next year's event.
However, SPM confirmed that the parties have "mutually agreed to end their partnership of a 2018 Indianapolis 500 programme.
"SPM will continue to focus on raising the level of performance of its involvement in the IndyCar Series.
"Both parties wish one another well in the future."
SPM will field James Hinchcliffe and Robert Wickens full-time in 2018.
