Hayden expects less wrist pain at Le Mans
15 May 2013 – Ducati rider Nicky Hayden is expecting to endure much less wrist pain during this weekend's French Grand Prix, having struggled to cope with his ongoing injury at the Circuit de Jerez last time out. The American, who has been resting prior to the event, also expects his team's Desmosedici machine to suit the Le Mans venue.
"We’ve had a couple of days off after a very busy week, so I was able to head north and regroup," Hayden explained. "Honestly, I’ve struggled at Le Mans, but one of the keys to the track is hard braking, which is a strong point of the Desmosedici.
"My wrist has improved since Jerez, and although it’s still not perfect, I expect to have less pain in France. Hopefully we can have some fun and do a good race."
Ahead of the race, Hayden lies eighth in the championship standings on 24 points.
