Lorenzo wants 'at least' podium in Barcelona
12 June 2014 – Jorge Lorenzo says he wants to "at least be on the podium" at the upcoming Barcelona MotoGP round.
The Yamaha rider, who was narrowly beaten by Repsol Honda's Marc Márquez at Mugello last time out, has finished first or second on his past five visits to the Montmeló venue, with wins in 2010, 2012 and 2013.
"In Mugello I tried my best, I felt stronger and I think we did a really good job. We were really close to the victory," said Lorenzo. "My physical condition improved a lot compared to the last races and the bike also worked well.
"I guess if we can do a step ahead with the bike or my physical condition we will fight again for the victory."
He continued: "Now we are heading to Montmeló, one of my favourite tracks like Mugello. I would like at least to be on the podium. Last year we found a good pace for the race and I remember we won in front of the two main rivals. Hopefully this season we can fight again; that would be so special as Montmeló is like my home race."
Lorenzo currently sits fourth in the championship standings on 65 points, 85 adrift of leader Márquez.
